Activities you can do anywhere!
Mum, I Love You Because...' Flower Activity
Tell Mum exactly what it is that makes her so special to you!
What you will need:
- Pencils and/or Textas
- Coloured paper
- Scissors and Glue
Choose a colour for the middle circle of your flower. Either draw or use a small glass to trace around a circle shape. Cut this out. On the circle write 'Mum, I love you because...'.
Draw 8 petal shapes (ovals) on the other coloured paper. Cut these out.
On the 8 petals write or draw the things that you love about your mum and that make her special. Glue these petals around the circle you cut out in step 1.
Using a green piece of paper cut out a stem for your flower and stick it on the back of the flower. Then your flower is ready for gifting!
My Mum in a Mirror Activity
Nature Crown Activity
Draw Mum how you see her in real life.
Make your Mum the crown she deserves, and treat her like the queen she is!
What you will need:
- a White piece of paper
- Coloured piece of cardboard
- Colouring pencils/textas
- Scissors and Glue
- Cardboard wide enough to fit around Mum's head
- Sticky tape
- PVA glue
- A collection of treasures you can find in the garden (Leaves, sticks, stones, grass, flowers)
Cut out a circle in the white piece of paper big enough to draw a picture of your mum in (you might like to use a bowl to trace around).
Cut out a handheld mirror shape or a circle larger than the white one using the coloured cardboard.
On the white circle draw a portrait of your mum. Add as many features as you can.
Glue the portrait of your mum onto the coloured circle.
Measure your mum's head (or an adult who is similar to your recipient) using the cardboard. Cut the cardboard into a strip long enough to go around their head.
Go for a walk outside and see what things you can find to add to your crown. It could be a pretty rock, an interesting leaf or stick. Perhaps you might find a gumnut or two.
Tape or glue your things from outside all over the crown. Make sure you stick them all over the cardboard.
Tape the ends up together so that it makes a big circle ready to be placed on your queen's head!
